I perceive it as an exclusive and curated experience. It is unique and not generic. Styled and considered: with a personal touch and geared towards a more discerning market. Ultimately I define the boutique experience as delivering exceptional service and products to buyers and sellers alike.
My first experience as a Candidate Property Practitioner
Some years ago, I sold a Muizenberg mountainside property to a South African guy living in the UK. Other than a few issues with the Body Corporate, it was a straightforward sale.
The owner of the property was a doctor who lived in Bishopscourt. She was pregnant then and lived in the UK, where she would have her baby. Her husband was the person I dealt with mainly. I knew he was a highly influential property investor, so while I knew this would be a great experience, I was daunted as this was my first sale.
I had been to their home in Bishopscourt to discuss the mandate, and the house was like the Oyster Box on steroids :) What an absolute pleasure it was dealing with this gentleman. From seeing his emails to service providers that we had to get in to fix the jacuzzi and other appliances when we did the COCs, as well as his emails to the paralegal handling the transaction.
The sense of importance that he gave to these service providers with what were, in effect, rather minor issues (that had to be resolved) had a big impact on me. Each email was attended to immediately and action was taken. Zero ego at all. I received a lovely mail from him thanking me for assisting his wife with selling her property.
