Tis' the season for spring sales

Category News

People often choose spring and summer to put their houses on the market. With more temperate weather and gardens and flowers in full bloom; this makes for the ideal time for your home to make a good impression on potential buyers.

Here are some simple yet effective ways to spruce up your home in order to prepare your home for the spring sale season:

Give your garden some TLC
Often the first thing a potential buyer sees when they arrive at a viewing is the garden. Make sure your garden is in tip-top condition and makes a spectacular first impression with the following tricks:

-           Mow your lawn uniformly, as there's nothing more appealing than manicured lawns when you're looking at a potential home.
-           Make sure that all the bushes are trimmed neatly.
-           Having lots of flowers make the garden look more exciting and appealing and can add a memorable, vibrant pop of colour.
-           Get rid of those pesky and unsightly weeds and dead leaves.
-           Water your garden and lawn to achieve that lush, green look.

Give your house a spring clean (after all, it is spring!)
Ensure everything is spic and span by thoroughly cleaning both the inside and outside of your home:

-           Wash all windows, doors and floors.
-           Make extra sure that the kitchen and bathrooms are spotless.
-           Declutter any rooms which seem to be full of unnecessary stuff by disposing of anything you no longer have need for.
-           Keep the dust at bay by wiping all surfaces and washing all curtains and carpets

Get around to doing those small maintenance issues you've been putting off for years

While things may look alright at first glance, a closer look will no doubt show up all those rusty bits, pieces of flaky paint, cracks and crevices. Avoid any unwanted scrutiny by doing some maintenance.

-           Fill in those cracks and crevices, replace cracked windows, fixtures and tiles.
-           Give the walls a fresh coat of paint
-           Replace any old, scraggly carpets

Make the home look as appealing as possible
Make your house look extra homely and inviting for potential buyers

-           Cut some fresh spring flowers and put them in rooms
-           Open windows to get the fresh air flowing throughout the house
-           Make sure everything is neat and tidy
