Alleged to be one of the most expensive suburbs in South Africa, Clifton attracts property investment  from both international and local High-Networth-Individuals alike. Part of the suburbs appeal is based on its spectacular ocean vistas as well as its immensely popular four beaches: Clifton 1 through Clifton 4.  These beaches are unique in Cape Town, in that they are partially protected from the prevailing winds which affect the majority of the city. Another contributing factor is that this decadent coastal lifestyle can be realised whilst still being less than 10km away from Cape Town CBD.

This small and extremely elite area is flanked by Camps Bay and Bantry Bay to the East and West and by the Atlantic Ocean and Signal Hill to the South and North.  Properties tend to be on the smaller side as the area was originally allocated to soldiers returning from World War 1 who were then housed in homes constructed from the packaging material from imported motor cars.  These structures have since been replaced by the most expensive homes in Southern Africa

Bungalow https://www.thebungalow.co.za may be the only restaurant in the suburb and is a popular hangout for locals and tourists. The dining options expand dramatically when one considers that the V&A Waterfront https://www.waterfront.co.za is still less than 10kms away, with its array of leisure, retail and entertainment options.  As are Camps Bay, Sea Point and City Bowl, all renowned for their array of foodie delights.
